GARDA Industrial Warehouse
Safety-first Roof Maintenance
At a Morningside industrial warehouse in Brisbane, our long-term client, GARDA faced an issue: multiple water leaks were entering the factory floor below. Upon investigation, we discovered that the skylights had become brittle over time, with no safety mesh installed underneath, posing an immediate safety risk to the workers below. Additionally, the roof was compromised by rusted sheet ends and 50,000 rusted roof screws, threatening the structural integrity of the building.
To solve this, we worked with the client to establish a repair that met their budget. This involved craning in 20 meter long skylights and secured them on the roof. Our team then removed the deteriorated skylights, installed new safety mesh, and fitted brand-new skylights, constantly ensuring the safety of the occupants below and ultimately improving the building’s weatherproofing. We also rust-treated the sheet ends that were showing signs of wear and replaced all 50,000 rusted roof screws to reinforce the roof’s longevity.
A key challenge we had to overcome was ensuring the tenant could continue their operations without interruption. Safety was our top priority, so we worked closely with the tenant to develop a detailed schedule and map of our daily work zones. This allowed us to ensure that workers, forklifts, and other machinery remained clear of the work area, minimizing risk and avoiding disruptions to the business.
By focusing on both immediate safety and long-term durability, we provided this Brisbane warehouse with a lasting, high-quality solution. This project underscores our expertise in Brisbane roof maintenance, as well as our commitment to balancing safety, efficiency, and client needs.
